Director of Data Analytics

Are you a data-driven leader passionate about transforming complex healthcare data into meaningful insights? We are seeking a Director of Data Analytics to lead strategic reporting, analytics, and data visualization initiatives that support healthcare policy, operational decision-making, and industry advocacy efforts across California.

This is an opportunity to work alongside executive leadership, healthcare policy experts, and key stakeholders to deliver impactful analytics that influence healthcare strategy and outcomes statewide.

Location

Hybrid role based in Sacramento, CA
Onsite Monday through Thursday with remote work on Fridays

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development of advanced analytics, dashboards, and data visualizations that simplify complex healthcare data for diverse audiences
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for large healthcare datasets including financial, utilization, quality, and equity-related data
  • Analyze healthcare trends and policy impacts related to efficiency, inflation, demand, reimbursement, and clinical acuity
  • Deliver timely reporting and actionable insights for executive leaders, stakeholders, and healthcare organizations
  • Develop and maintain reporting methodologies, data standards, and governance practices to ensure analytical accuracy and consistency
  • Translate complex technical findings into clear business insights through presentations, charts, and visual storytelling
  • Partner cross-functionally with policy, communications, and operational teams to support strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to support sensitive healthcare data management and reporting platforms
  • Monitor and interpret state and federal healthcare policy trends and assess downstream operational and financial impacts

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience in healthcare analytics, business intelligence, or data strategy leadership
  • Expertise working with complex healthcare datasets and reporting tools
  • Advanced analytical and data visualization capabilities
  • Ability to communicate technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience supporting executive-level reporting and strategic decision-making
  • Strong collaboration, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare policy, hospital operations, or regulatory reporting is highly preferred
